Guest guest
Hi All, One of my favorite foods early in my raw food transition was almond butter. That is, until I discovered that the almond butter I was eating was heated to 160 degrees during processing and then allowed to sit on the shelf at room temperature for months. I tried to continue eating it even after making that discovery but it wasn't long before my body started saying " no thanks " . I eventually found other foods to take the place of almond butter but I continued to search for it wherever I went. In the past 8 years, I've only found truly FRESH raw almond butter once, in a small health food store in southern Oregon. A few weeks ago I found some rare raw (pasteurized, however) almond butter in a health food store, and it was even refrigerated. Unfortunately I couldn't justify trying it because the price was $36 for a 16 ounce jar! But the kicker was the expiration date - the manufacturer claims it is supposed to be good until August of 2010. And who knows how long it had already been sitting on the shelf. My nut customers have shared similar experiences with me, and this led me to invest in a nut grinder a few months ago. I've been busy experimenting to come up with the best, creamiest, most digestible, nut-ritious, and flavorful raw almond butter on earth, and I'm happy to announce I will be offering 16 ounce jars of this fabulous butter for only $22. It will be made fresh to order, from 100% certified organic, UNpasteurized raw almonds, with (a very small amount of) organic hemp or almond oil, and in small batches to ensure that it is never heated above 110 degrees. Orders can be picked up in Bellevue or shipped out of state. Coordinated delivery to designated drop off locations or at potlucks is also a possibility, depending on the level of interest. I also have raw walnuts for $8/lb and unpasteurized almonds for $9/lb, both organic. Please email me privately with questions. Best wishes, Nora
