Guest guest
Date/Time: December 31, 2009 Doors open at 5:30 PM (kitchen available) Dinner begins at 7:30 PM Location: Cascade People's Center 309 Pontius Ave N Seattle, WA 98109-5421 At the corner of Thomas St. and Pontius Ave N (One block from the corner of the Seattle REI store) Note: Their heating is fixed, they have a new roof, and should have a new ceiling and floor by the time of our potluck!!! Chocolate/Cacao: Perhaps we can have some kind of cacao event! (more details later) Durian: I will have my ion air purifier, like a few years ago, so we can have a durian section (which doesn't stink up the place when the filters are on!) Please contact me if you can bring (or lend) an extra ion air purifier. Music: We will have radio/CD music. I plan to bring keyboards again. If you play, but don't see the keyboards, ask me. Feel free to bring other instruments (guitars, drums, etc.) Burning Bowl Ceremony: I will look into offering a burning bowl ceremony. This is an opportunity to write down traits you wish to let go of, then place them in the burning bowl and turn them over to the universe. This can help you to release old habits and make room for new ones. Discussion of the New Year: We can discuss our dreams, goals, and aspirations for 2010. We can share our affirmations for the New Year. Games: Let's plan on playing some rounds of Sacred What If! Feel free to bring other games to play. We don't have to be out until 4:00 AM or so (maybe longer if a regular morning event is cancelled), so we should have plenting of time for games. What to bring: A prepared dish of lots of raw, organic vegan ingredients. (no animal products!) Please provide a detailed list of the ingredients. These events are about abundance! If eaten alone, your food should fill at least 2-3 people. Please bring plenty! If you'll be staying a long time, please bring extra food. If it's your first time and you don't know what to bring, but are interested in coming, just bring an organic green salad with dressing on the side (or a fruit salad). Please bring your own plates and silverware. Feel free to bring games and musical instruments. Consider bringing a donation for the Silent Auction! The Cascade Peoples Center no longer has a thrift store, but can use some donations to help them operate: Cash/check donations - I will forward any donations to the Center Green cleaning products Food storage containers (1 quart or larger, glass or plastic) Steam cleaner Other things you believe they could use We will have a silent r'auction to raise a donation for use of the non- profit Center. Donations are welcome: Raw, vegan treats; crafts, services, etc. Gently used products of value are also welcome. Please contact Jeff ahead of time regarding your donation. The close of the auction will be 10:00 PM! Extra revenues may be shared with the Raw Network of Washington. Direct donations will be accepted for both organizations.
