Guest guest
On Friday Jerrod Sessler and I scheduled appointments to meet with Mary Conway the Labor & Healthcare Community Outreach Representative for U.S. Senator Patty Murray. Jerrod & I purposely scheduled back to back appointments (15 minutes each) so we could sit in on each others time with Mary. Mary was very gracious, listened to us really the whole time and asked a few key questions at the end. She had also recently seen the movie " Food, Inc. " so that was very helpful (if you haven't seen it do so on an empty stomach and it is a great way to get people to become vegans!). Really the 15 minutes each was enough time. It may not seem like much but if one prepares they can get across the key info! 1. Healthcare (or whatever you want to call it) does need reform! 2. There are well-intentioned, misinformed, unhealthy people on both sides of the issue. 3. The debate needs to be on the METHOD (type of care, lifestyle, etc.) NOT THE PROCESS (who pays)!!! TRUE healthcare reform MUST include these principals: 1. Personal Responsibility - we all need to become the CEO of our own health 2. Freedom Of Choice -based on accurate info 3. Incentives based on desired outcome(s) - in this case wellness/lower costs I recommend suggesting principals rather than a particular guru/agenda. Here is the link to what Jerrod is proposing. <https://www.freggies.com/Health_Care_Solution.pdf> https://www.freggies.com/Health_Care_Solution.pdf I recommend strongly that EVERYONE meet with her! It didn't seem as if a lot of people were taking advantage of this opportunity. We can and will make a difference! ONLY on the day of (9/25 the LAST DAY!) can appointments be scheduled. Of course one can just show up and take their chances anytime between 9:00am & 4:30pm. Guest guest
I believe strongly in taking personal responsibility for our health but what about the people who don't have any kind of coverage and have something catastrophic happen? _____ On Behalf Of Jim Casale-Health Monday, September 21, 2009 11:04 AM RECAP: Every Friday You Can Visit Patty Murray On Friday Jerrod Sessler and I scheduled appointments to meet with Mary Conway the Labor & Healthcare Community Outreach Representative for U.S. Senator Patty Murray. Guest guest
If debating the METHOD is too onerous, you might enjoy instead spending 3 minutes just being entertained: Blanc On Sep 21, 2009, at 11:03 AM, Jim Casale-Health wrote: > 3.
