Guest guest
I will be traveling with my daughter to capital hill in two weeks to meet with Senators, Congressman and/or their staffers. The primary purpose of discussion will be the disease care situation. This will be my 5th year in a row making a trip in September to cast influence (which is our right) over the fall meetings. I have gone alone, with other business people and with my family. Every time has been rewarding educational and has added highlight to the statement that " each vote counts for something. " I was diagnosed with terminal cancer 10 years ago and I beat it WITHOUT using standard medical protocol. In fact, I choose not do to what the doctors suggested and many of them agreed with me? Why, you say? Because they are limited to what they can suggest in fear of losing their license to practice and thus support their families. The system is broken and I intend to do my part in helping our legislators understand the real problem(s) and suggest meaningful solutions. How can you help? I would like to walk into the offices of our legislators and hand them a stack of letters from each of you. Get a pen and paper and simply tell your story, give your perspective, express your concern or simply cast your vote about the situation in a letter. I will be meeting with Murray, Cantwell & McDermott (or staffers) but will GLADLY deliver letters to any of the offices from any state. Make sure to put your county, state and desired rep. on your letter. I am concerned that apathy may be setting in around this because the White House has been blasting PR that would indicate they are stepping down from their mission around this crisis. I am not convinced that they would give us so easily. In fact, I would more quickly believe that they are fabricating the PR to cause apathy. I had breakfast Friday with a previous White House staff and I can assure you that it is more important than ever that we stand up and let our voice be heard. For too long have we been silent trusting that everything would work out. It is time to stand up and quit letting the very small minority drive this great country! Please write your letters and get them to me no later than 9/10. Via mail: HomeTask.com, Attn.
