Guest guest
Kristi: Not sure which you would like hear more on... Both statements really stand on their own. To add...for store bought there is nothing healthier and less expensive than vegetables & beans/legumes! All of us tend to get caught up on our experts who espouse certain theories. We can't let that get in the way of practical realities. In the book, " If It Is Not Food, Don't Eat It! " author Kelly Hayford states that only 9-12% of the USA is eating within guidelines for a healthy diet. Which many consider to be inadequate! So that being said, really 95%+ are going to benefit from any change toward healthier eating! In fact, the two healthiest methods don't involve eating at all! They are juicing & sprouting! As I stated previously, there is so MUCH more to great health than just diet! Anyone who wants to can email me off-list for a copy of the " Ten Basics. Guest guest
Ok, to be more specific, how do you eat your beans - sprouted, cooked, etc. I've tried sprouted lentils but not beans. I really just cut them out when I went raw. And I totally agree on the experts. If there is one thing that history has told us it's that we're always learning new things, and the things that were billed as *miracle!* one year are the next found to be totally wrong and/or even harmful. What I was curious about is your stance on the whole 10% fat debate. I've tried it. I can't take it. I'm more about 20-30% now and that feels comfortable. Some days I eat very little or no overt fat, but most days I eat some nuts or an avocado. I try not to dwell on it too much, because I'm all raw, and that's way better eating than I was doing before.
