Guest guest
I'll try it! Thanks! Recipes you would recommend for the hemp seed? Or just put it in my green smoothies? Cheers! Guest guest
" I'll let you know if that get's rid of the shakes " Kelle, In addition to the great info/advice you've gotten from Mark and Jonathan, I'd recommend doing some reading so you can better understand why your body is producing symptoms. Briefly, the body's resources are overexpended when we eat foods that are difficult to digest like cheese, oils, nuts, seeds, etc. It signals its need to regenerate the lost energy later on (typically the next day) by creating symptoms of tiredness, impatience, shakiness, weakness, etc., some of which we mistake for feelings of hunger. If all we want to do is turn off the symptoms, we can do that quite easily by once again eating something that is difficult to digest, so the body will have to shift its attention to that task instead of recouping yesterday's losses. (You may notice that if you eat something very *easy* to digest, like fruit, the symptoms don't go away or, if they do, they come back quickly.) But in the end you're deeper into an energy deficit. It's like whipping a tired horse to make him run. The best thing to do in response to symptoms is cooperate, rather than simply turn them off. Weakness and shakiness are signs that the body needs rest, not more work. Digestion is work for the body. I was hypoglycemic before I went raw and still get 'sugar lows' (although not as deep as they used to be) the following day after eating fat. When I stop eating fat, I stop getting sugar lows. I've eaten nothing but fruit (no avos, no fats, no greens) for the past 6 weeks and have not had a sugar low. It takes a very long time to get over the need to eat complicated foods, including fats. It can't be done mentally, it has to coincide with the body's physical healing. What you can do in the meantime is try to simplify your combinations, eat your last meal very early in the day (no later than 5pm) especially if it contains fat, eat less fat overall, rest instead of eating to stop your symptoms whenever you can, etc. I highly recommend reading the relevant lessons of the Life Science course at www.RawFoodExplained.com for more info. Best wishes, Nora
