Let me say it was just not an average type of sunburn, I used to stay burned for weeks and it hurt! Both of my sisters can go from china white to very tanned without burning. I used to say that " I didn't get the melanin gene. " Since I have been living a healthy lifestyle I have color and now tan just fine without burning. I will caution you however that I have seen that massive amounts of water have to be consumed at peak times to prevent burn. Without sweating sometimes 8oz.+ every ten minutes. That is for man that weighs around 190lbs. Color can be obtained year round by eating green and orange colored produce. I assume because of constant burning in my youth and the shape of my face my nose will still burn. So I use Zinc Oxide on it (not rubbed in!). The best protection from a burn is a tan and no matter what your heritage/color you can tan! Build up your tan though! If you wouldn't consume it, don't put it on your skin! I would urge you to consider taking mega-doses of PABA supplements. 1,000mgs. x 3 daily. Search for a PABA only skin cream. Also, do research on taking Melanin supplements. Make it a blessed one!
