Guest guest
I had an interesting conversation a few years back with someone very involved in the Green Party. He encourages people to register Green but vote Democratic, at least under the current scenario. He felt that registering Green shows there is frustration with the two-party system and support for a more progressive agenda, but the idea of splitting the liberal vote and enabling a more conservative candidate to win is a real possibility. Naturally the long term answer is: working towards political reform. --- On Sat, 10/25/08, Judy Pokras <vegwriter wrote: Judy Pokras <vegwriter Re: Trader Joes Raw Almonds Saturday, October 25, 2008, 5:22 PM Yes, any vote for a third party is taking votes away from the more progressive of the two main candidates. Guest guest
Interesting idea. But here in Florida, where I live, the party you register for is the only one you can vote for in primaries. So that wouldn't work for me, as it's important to me to vote in primaries (even though there was a problem in Florida for the Democratic primary, in which our votes were not all counted when it came to super delegates).
