Guest guest
Hi Sharon, I live in Auburn and its lots easer to get chicken fried steak with a side of fries here than health food here. The Fred Meyer store in the north end of Auburn has a natural food section with bulk foods and a small organic section in produce. There isn't much turnover in the organic produce (this is Auburn), so often it looks unhappy. Metro bus #181 goes from Green River Community College through Auburn and up to Federal Way, where it goes within a couple blocks of Marlene's. The fruit at PCC is usually in better condition and at a lower price, but its also pretty expensive to get to a PCC from Auburn. Marlene's does better than any store I've tried at selling locally grown fruit, and selling a variety of fruit, particularly apples and pears. PCC sells the same few varieties of fruit pretty much 12 moths a year, mostly from suppliers out of the area, regardless of the dozens of varieties that are available locally. Here is the link to bus #181 http://transit.metrokc.gov/cftemplates/show_map.cfm?BUS_ROUTE=181 & DAY_NAV=WSU May your day be filled with clarity, grace, strength, progress, and warm laughter, Roger - " sharon " <smassena Saturday, May 31, 2008 2:05 PM Re: Local Raw Food Resources (was New to Raw Foods) > Yes, I go there, but it's still 1/2 hour away and I spend as little gas as I can. > > I will contact the " health minister " as well. > > Thank you > Sharon > - > Jeff Rogers > > Saturday, May 31, 2008 1:45 PM > Re: Local Raw Food Resources (was New to Raw Foods) > > > Welcome Sharon, > > The closest I know of is Marlene's Market (see the list I sent), which > is in Federal Way.
