Guest guest
Two obstacles for health seekers changing their diet to " gourmet " raw vegan are (1) the complex, time consuming food " trying " to be something else and often failing in taste and satiety. Even in success, (2) the ratio of fat (as a percentage of calories) is so high (way higher than meat eaters or " cooked " vegetarians) that in time, it may cause serious problems, as high fat (even good quality raw fat) interferes with sugar metabolism, oxygen transport, and digestion. People initially feel better on this high fat raw vegan approach because for most people it's still a dramatic improvement from the dead stuff they abandoned. Happily a perfect solution awaits –that is " in harmony with nature, in accord with the principals of vital organic existence, correct in science, sound in ethics and philosophy, in agreement with common sense, successful in practice, and a blessing to humankind " . (- T.C. Fry) Natural hygiene: delicious satisfying fruit providing the bulk of calories, with vegetables, leafy greens, and small amounts of high fat foods, nuts, and seeds. This works on all levels because our bodies are designed like all other primates- to be frugivore. One may still eat " gourmet " preparations, if one chooses, perhaps less often and simpler. It is what we do most of the time that counts. The book " The 80/10/10 Diet " wonderfully lays out this information; I highly recommend it. Investigate and .... thrive. Raw on.
