This article puts down " detox diets " (including raw foods), I've seen

less condescending articles about raw foods in recent years, but they

occasionally pop up. Are people afraid of the truth or losing money?

Or afraid of change? Anyway, I still like to see how people react to

raw foods, etc. Please consider offering your comments (post right

online). I posted comments, which you can see after the article

DETOX DIET? NO, GO FOR A GLASS OF WATER

SLIMLINE: Water is best

IF you’re thinking of going on a detox diet to shed the pounds you’ve

piled on over Christmas, forget it.

You’re better off drinking a glass of water, says an expert.

Trendy regimes like detox diets are a complete waste of time,

according to government scientist Dr Andrew Wadge.

He claimed the best way to beat the bulge is to drink water, take

exercise and eat home-cooked food.

Dr Wadge, of the Food Standards Agency, said hard work and traditional

low-fat recipes are the best way to slim down.

He said: “There’s a lot of nonsense talked about ‘detoxing’ and most

people seem to forget we are born with a built-in detox mechanism.

It’s called the liver.”
