Guest guest
New Raw Foods Group forms Dec. 12, 2007; 3:49 p.m. Press release submitted by Michael Grady A Raw Foods Meetup group met for the first time in December in Davenport. Michael Grady, the organizer of the group, stated that people are looking beyond vegetarianism and exploring new avenues of nutritional wellness. 'What differentiates a Vegan from a Raw Foodist is simply that a Raw Foodist is more inclined to not cook his food. He would rather keep it raw to maintain optimal nutritional value. A majority of food nutrients are lost from pesticides and herbicides, distance transportation and cooking with heat or microwaves. Eating food raw makes sense in some cases and to some people. Some foods are better eaten raw anyway. These include most fruits and most vegetables. An avocado, for example, is the perfect raw food. Not only does it not make much sense to cook it, but prepared with condiments, it can be eaten daily once or even twice, and is both delicious and healthy', said Grady.
