Guest guest
Good afternoon, I've just brought home a case of young coconuts from our local food co-op and I'm again confronted with my personal weaknesses about whacking them with a clever. I prefer to use power tools - a drill to make a hole so I can drain the water and a hacksaw to open it up and scoop out the meat. However, I'm reluctant to use tools that may have toxic residue so I'm trying to find a stainless drill bit and hacksaw blade. Does anyone know of such things? I would think they'd be available from the restaurant/butchery trade (I used to be in those trades) but haven't found them yet - either in stores or on the internet. Any help would be appreciated. These coconuts get moldy fast. (btw are they still safe to eat after the surface is moldy?)
