Guest guest
Hi Erinn, This may not be the type of advice you seek ... but it comes from the heart. Make peace with yourself over what is happening, focus on bringing yourself to a place of acceptance. You cannot give what another will not receive. So enjoy the time you have together, share those things you enjoy most, and allow him the freedom to chart his own course. Take the best care of yourself that you can ... for your sake, for his, of course for that of everyone whose life you touch. Hello all again, I just found out my father has atrial fibrolation in his heart. 2 of the valves aren't pumping blood through properly and the blood can collect and clot because of it. He is in a higher danger of having a stroke now too. The Doctors put him on something called Premadin ( I think? It thins the blood to prevent clotting) And told him he has to stop eating leafy veggies (including broccoli) altogether!!! Because vitamin K has clotting agents. Dear God! He is a meat eater - eats meat 1-2 times a day sometimes, but is as healthy as a meateater can be. Hikes or runs every day, nothing fried and lots of big salads. I will never be able to convince him to go vegetarian, and he won't give up his 2 glasses of red wine a day either. Can anyone please offer any helpful information of any kind? They may put him on blood thinning medication for the rest of his life, and are going to shock his heart back into pumping in a few weeks. He also has sleep apnia. I would sincerely appriciate any help at all! Thank you so much! I hadn't thought about the acidic effects of (toxic) chlorine on calcium. I realized many years ago that chlorine brought on bronchitis symptoms, so I avoid it, including a de-chlorinating shower filter. People should realize chlorine doesn't need drinking to get into the body. The vapors are inhaled and the skin absorbs it. I highly recommend that people with chlorine in their water invest in a de-chlorinating shower filter or, better yet, a filter for the entire house. I use this shower filter: www.gaiam.com/retail/product/01-0406 though they have many other shower filters. We have a basic filter on the main water pipe coming into the house. I believe the company making the system has an optional de-chlorinating filter cartridge.
