Okay, now that makes sense to me, thanks! (Below)

I am happy to read, " But, I find that 2,000 is about my minimum. :) " Yes,

perhaps as a minimum. And you are small :):) (I guess you already know

that.) It takes far less energy to move a 90-pound body one mile than it

does to move a 150-pound body through that same mile, of course.

Still, most people are underactive, and then they undereat. The result is a

shortfall of all nutrients. We humans are designed to live actively ... not

as Olympians, but actively. And this activity increases our caloric

consumption ... our hunger and desire to eat ... by, say 25-50% over what it

would be were we to live in a very sedentary manner (as most people do these

days).

When we are sedentary, we undereat ALL nutrients, simply because we eat less

food than we are designed to eat living actively. When we are active, the

number of calories we eat increases, and assuming that the basic structure

of our diet remains the same (fruits and greens, for example), then the

quantity of all nutrients we consume increases linearly, calorie for

calorie, as we eat more.

So activity is integral to nutrition. Everything really is interwoven. This

point is crucial in Doug's 80/10/10 program, and many who find that this

approach " does not work for them " actually fail on this point.

Best,

Elchanan

Excerpts:

As for primal nutritional program I was actually grabbing that from a book I

read concerning the works of Dr. Warburg, the Nobel Prize Winner who proved

that cancer thrives in an acidic enviornment. But, the primal state is when

our cells can no longer take in oxygen to convert glucose into energy. When

our cells lack oxygen they revert to nourishing itself by converting glucose

therough the process of fermentation.

....

As for undernourishment I have to play a careful balance between what I take

in and what I expend

(personally, energy-wise). I am only 5 tall and even on all fruit raw w/

leafies have a tendency to overeat, as noted by my weight, which my BMI is

in the healthy range, but IMO the BMI's aren't accurate (as set by the

govt.). But, I find that 2,000 is about my minimum. :)

PS I started reading some of Dr. Warburg's info from various references on

the web and @ the library after having seen the chapter in Victoria B's

" Green For Life. " In fact, I am pretty sure that is where I read the terms

" primal nutrition. " But, I tend to book hog @ the library, so I also could

have read it from other references afterwards. Cheers!
