Guest guest
Hi Gang, I signed up to offer support meetings in the Burien/W. Seattle neighborhood and I wanted to plug them a bit here. While most people may not " need " support in the traditional sense, support meetings (at least the ones I intend to host and be part of) are about much more than sharing recipes and talking about B12. As with any support group, people of all ages, raw percentages, and experiences are encouraged to offer different points of view, lifestyle choices, and adventures on the raw journey. It's not just for newcomers! Things I hope to talk about: raw children, education choices, political action, emotional changes, spiritual changes, community building, commerce, religion (in an interfaith sort of way, of course!), environmentalism, etc. Our raw community is getting stronger everyday and the least we can all do is meet each other in more intimate ways and strengthen those bonds. While potlucks are nice for the social aspects, it would be great to get together not around food and talk about what ELSE is going on. Shameless plug: I write a blog called " Inside the Raw Food Lifestyle " (insiderawfood.blogspot.com) where I talk about the other stuff that happens in life. Not a lot of recipes or nutrient talk, just what's going on with my inner life via raw food. Check it out! Burien/W. Seattle support group meets on Mondays at 6:30pm on 8/27 and 9/3, then there will be a two week hiatus, but then I will continue hosting (probably switching to Tuesdays at 6:30p) weekly meetings. Feel free to email me off the list with any questions or comments! -Becca
