Guest guest
Hi everyone, Even the slightest degree of dehydration does indeed impair almost all bodily functions. The body begins prioritizing, holding some functions as close to full capacity as it can, rationing water for everything else. Some may be interested in the signs of dehydration. 1. The first sign is called " thirst " . We experience this in the back of the throat. In my experience working with people, most today have little or no awareness of this first symptom of thirst, this first signal that our body needs water. 2. Subsequent but still early symptoms are dryness in the mouth, lips, nose, and tiredness. Almost everyone I have ever known has complained about feeling tired around 2-4 PM, somewhere in that timeframe. And most of these people have a " solution " in mind ... eat protein, eat this, eat that. But I have taught many people simply to drink some water, then close their eyes and rest quietly for 15-20 minutes. Works wonders almost all the time, and no more need for " snacks " . Never was a need to begin with. Almost no one in America who is capable of arriving at a group such as this suffers from a calorie deficiency, after all! :) - 100% of people who are overfat (commonly described as " overweight " ) are dehydrated, 365x24x7. Why? Because fat and fatty tissues are very low in water content, yet require sustenance. (And there is more.) People in this situation often find themselves waking up during the night thirsty and/or to urinate, among other symptoms. - Virtually 100% of people who consume salt (sodium chloride) in any quantity at all are dehydrated much or all of the time, to at least some degree. Just food for thought. When the body is dehydrated, I'm sure a lot of the bodies functions are less efficient. The body relies on fluid to transport nutrients, including oxygen. Hydration... it does the body good! (but not milk... except, of course, mother's milk for infants (of the same species, non-homogenized, non-pasteurized, but I digress...))
