Guest guest
Greetings! If you would love to be part of a Raw Vegan-friendly camping contingent at the Oregon Country Fair, get ready! The fair is happening July 13-15, and it would be best if we arrive on Thursday, July 12, (or EARLY Friday at the LATEST) in order to secure a camping area. If interested, please contact me and we will work together to make this the most amazing fun time of our lives, and spread the Raw Love! In the meantime, I suggest we go ahead and register for camping at Darling's Reunion, and buy your fair tickets at the same time. Bear in mind that the fair has become so huge, that there is plenty to do just hanging around the campsite (drum circles, friendly people), and in fact Saturday mid-day was pretty hectic at the fair itself, so that might be a time to have a watermelon feast before going to the late afternoon/evening's concerts (fair closes at 7pm, and there is plenty to do at the campground after that -- if you are a light sleeper, you might actually do better in a different campground). http://www.darlingreunion.net/tickets.html (Haven't called them yet - if you call and they sound like there are almost no spots left there, hold off and let me know, and we'll choose another place) http://www.oregoncountryfair.org/TheFair/ I will probably do as I did last year, bring a cooler and stop by Blossoming Lotus on the way down, and also bring watermelon and other produce. In the fair itself the food is mostly cooked, its not even easy to find a salad. But there is organic fresh-squeezed orange juice somewhere (never found it), and herbal elixirs near the main stage were a life/soul saver. See you there. Let me know if you have questions, or want to coordinate/carpool with me, by sending me an email. Much Love, StephenStar

I believe a cart near the main stage offered some fresh juices. There is a booth not far from the main stage that serves nothing but raw pies! There is also a booth (I believe on the western side at the end of one of the paths, which continues out to a staff parking area?) had fresh organic salad as well as a raw dressing. The same booth made smoothies and had stationary bicycles hooked up to blend the smoothies. (just look for the bikes outside the booth). One year at the pie booth I met a couple from seattle, another semi-raw friend, then realized Bruce Horowitz was helping make pies.
