Guest guest
Can you please give me an idea of your weekly shopping list? How many people are you feeding? How much a week do you spend? (are you supplementing with CSA or farmer's market or garden?) What does a weekly menu look like for your family? How do you plan ahead so you always have enough soaked and sprouted nuts, grains, or legumes if you are using them? Thanks. I am moving more raw right now. I love how I feel when I eat lots and lots of raw foods, but I have to figure out how this works for my family too. Thanks. Marisa
Guest guest
Marisa, You may get a variety of answers to your questions from different people. I don't have a weekly shopping list. I shop much more frequently. I occasionally will list a few items ahead of time. Usually, I am inspired when I get to the produce section. I also shop intuitively, choosing produce I am drawn to. I occasionally plan ahead to soak nuts. It is more of an issue if I am planning for a class, potluck, or other event and have to plan the timing and quantities. If I decide shortly before a meal that I want to use some nuts or seeds, I will soak them for as long as I have time for, beginning with a vigorous shake to start the soaking process. I typically don't use grains. On rare occasions, I'll use some buckwheat. I eat a lot of salads, rotating the greens I use. I make green pates on occasion (nuts, avocado, and greens, optional sea salt). I also use a lot of parsley! I have also eaten a lot of fruit, quite a few green smoothies, and lots of young coconut smoothies. I very rarely use legumes, though may eat them at potlucks or in prepared raw hummus. A simple way to go is fruits and lots of salads (preferably organic or wild). Jeff
