Guest guest
I picked almonds from the tree last year during my Thanksgiving persimmon-gathering excursion to North-Central Cali. I only brought enough back for my personal use, though. Interestingly, I fed some to the squirrels and they must have missed one because I now have a 5 " almond tree growing right outside my back door. Next year I'll definitely be bringing back enough to sell. Speaking of which, I'll be making a trip next week to California to get avocados, cherries, blueberries, plums, tomatoes and possibly peaches and nectarines. I'm not sure about peaches and nectarines because they may be too perishable to survive the trip back unless I pick them unripe, which I don't want to do. I'm surest about the blueberries, because I've already spoken with one organic farmer who said his crop would be ready by mid-May. I won't pick or bring back anything that isn't exceptional. Tasteless fruit we can get in the supermarket! It would be helpful to know who all would be interested in buying, and what kind of quantities you'd like. Please speak up if you're interested because I will use this information to figure out how much of everything to bring back. It won't be like placing an order, because I won't know for sure what will be available till I get there. I don't know about prices either, but they will certainly be lower than the supermarkets. I won't have email access after May 25 but I'll try to get someone else to post info about what I'll have available for sale & prices when I return on June 3. Feel free to email off list. Thanks much! Nora nmlenz www.RawSchool.com
