Hi there,

This month's NW Living Foods event will be a Raw Food Basics 101

class this Saturday (May 5th) from 1 till 4 PM at the raw food store

in Redmond (22336 NE 85th St.).

The focus will be on the how and why's of going raw and will be

tailored for those fairly new to raw foods.

The chefs/presenters will be: Janine Henkel, local 4 year raw food

chef (www.RawFoodTeacher.com, 206-697-0568) who has been teaching raw

food classes in Woodinville for several years and whose next

class is this May 19th

Susan Park, co-proprietor of NW Living Foods who healed her thyroid

cancer by going raw

Tom Armstrong, co-proprietor and founder of NW Living Foods

The dishes we'll prepare are intentionally simple requiring a minimum

of equipment (but still awesome!) and designed to highlight a

specific technique or process:

A fruit (or green) smoothie featuring how to open a coconut

A noodle dish w/ marinara (or pesto) sauce featuring how to use a

spiralizer

A burrito wrap featuring seed cheese

Simple cherry ice cream featuring almond milk

Chocolate pudding featuring yummyness

We'll also discuss equipment options as you progress in raw foods,

discuss the benefits and how to of sprouting, and talk about some of

the super foods available to help in your transition to raw foods.

The cost of the class is $15 and includes recipes and samples of all

the prepared dishes as well as access to some " in store " specials the

day of the class. Please RSVP at tom by Friday.

Thanks, hope to see you Saturday.

In health,

Tom Armstrong
