Guest guest Posted May 2, 2007 Report Share Posted May 2, 2007 Hi there, This month's NW Living Foods event will be a Raw Food Basics 101 class this Saturday (May 5th) from 1 till 4 PM at the raw food store in Redmond (22336 NE 85th St.). The focus will be on the how and why's of going raw and will be tailored for those fairly new to raw foods. The chefs/presenters will be: Janine Henkel, local 4 year raw food chef (www.RawFoodTeacher.com, 206-697-0568) who has been teaching raw food classes in Woodinville for several years and whose next class is this May 19th Susan Park, co-proprietor of NW Living Foods who healed her thyroid cancer by going raw Tom Armstrong, co-proprietor and founder of NW Living Foods The dishes we'll prepare are intentionally simple requiring a minimum of equipment (but still awesome!) and designed to highlight a specific technique or process: A fruit (or green) smoothie featuring how to open a coconut A noodle dish w/ marinara (or pesto) sauce featuring how to use a spiralizer A burrito wrap featuring seed cheese Simple cherry ice cream featuring almond milk Chocolate pudding featuring yummyness We'll also discuss equipment options as you progress in raw foods, discuss the benefits and how to of sprouting, and talk about some of the super foods available to help in your transition to raw foods. The cost of the class is $15 and includes recipes and samples of all the prepared dishes as well as access to some " in store " specials the day of the class. Please RSVP at tom by Friday.
