Guest guest
Yes, we do backslide when we know we shouldn't. I went on digest on this list and should not have...as I also began to backslide and " digest " toxic tasty foods. Thought I'd never do that because I was so happy with the new raw me. For close to three months I snuck in bad foods to my diet and liquor drinks now and then...I had become migraine free and was wonderfully thin. I started to put on weight again and my started to break out...got migraines and colitis again. Spent two days very very sick while purging with an effective Jensen cleanse. Also my Step Dad came to stay for two weeks and that was a real wake up call as he is on deaths door and still eats junk. Although I didn't all out eat junk, my body still said...GO BACK TO EATING ALL RAW VEGAN! I think I'll do like my mother does. 95% Vegan...one boiled egg a week with a salad and feta cheese three times a week. Plus my goat milk kefir. It all started out by eating roasted nuts on the salad bar and I began pigging out on them. Then things escalated. I realized I am not beyond temptation. My husband is partly to fault for his eating habits and there I am with him. His sick Dad was enough of a wake up call that he quit smoking. A good start. Perhaps it would be easier if I lived around some cool raw resturants...but am here in the south where BBQ, chili and fajitas reign. Just trying to get people with nasty sinus infections to lay off dairy can be close to impossible. As ashamed as I am to say it, even knowing what I know, I have on more than one occasion stuffed something into my mouth that I knew was horrid for me. I've often wondered, if faced with some medical problem, whether I'd have the gumption to follow my beliefs and stay totally raw for more than two months (my current " best " ). Hopefully, we'll never have to see. Guest guest
Diana good to see you back on the board. I will never forget all those beautiful recipes you talked about. I have done occasional back sliding too, but keep going forward as I feel so much better and have a life. I am in the process of becoming certified as a life coach and I will be working in the area of raw food lifestyle, among other things. Life is good. Guest guest
Hi Diana! I just picked my 17.5 yr. old son up from boarding school this weekend, and he had a great line for his mom and me: " ...you can have your excuses/reasons/stories or you can have the results you want... " <== was a nice reminder for me. all the best, Bob rawfood , Diana of Dewberry Hill <cozad76078> wrote: > Yes, we do backslide when we know we shouldn't.
