Guest guest
How would you get all the calories (avocados/nuts) you need if you're to keep the fat low, too? I'll read the site to see if he discusses this, but if you have time, I would love to read a sample of what you eat in a day (quantity-wise especially). ------------------- Thanks, Denise --------- Hi Denise.. although it wasn't me that you asked about what they ate, thought I'd offer today's " snapshot " : Breakfast: ~8-8:30am.. 4 bananas 8 dates - medjoool -med/lg. ~555 kcal Lunch: ~11:30am 3 bananas 10 dates ~507 Kcal Snack ~3pm 3 bananas raisins 1/2 c. ~357 kcal Dinner ~6pm Tomatoes - 2 Whole Lettuce - Romaine ~1.5C Celery - 3 stalks - med. Spinach, young - 1 c Mixed baby greens - ~1C ~104 Kcal (the salad dressing is included in the above; I used Doug Graham's suggestion of blending tomatoes, celery and a little lemon (he actually recommends oranges...didn't have any of those available tonight) Snack ~8pm (and a little later) 2 Bananas 1 Celery ~223 Kcal (this is my homemade Sports Drink, also per Doug Graham's recipe...the above blended in about 32 oz of water.. for the day, the total came out 1,745 Kcal -- deliberately a little over my goal, knowing that I was playing tennis tonight. The calonutrient ratio came out 91% Carbohydrates, 5% protein, and 4% fat. Had no nuts/seeds/avocados today (deliberately..I had some last night..) this is where my eating has kind of evolved since last September, and it looks a lot like this most days..some days there are a few nuts, seeds, or maybe a little avocado... usually as part of dinner some others: Vit. A: 138% Vit. C: 394% (sometimes it's as high as 1,000%) Fiber: 297% Protein: 23g (a little on the low side for me...but not too bad...) calcium 31% (not as worried about it at the moment, since I know that I'm keeping my pH alkaline, the body won't be using the calcium up neutralizing any acidity...., other than my exercise wastes...) Iron: 58% seems ok.. Felt great, had high energy all day, and especially during my 4 hrs. of tennis. the bananas may be starting to give way to more melons, as they come more into season. Had one yesterday for breakfast, for example.. had a few mangoes recently also..yummy! note that the big change for me has been the inclusion/base of sweet fruits, in this case bananas and dates. (thanks again to Elchanan!) analysis taken from Nutridiary (www.nutridiary.com) see previous posts for more on that... That's what it looks like...hope this helps.. all the best, Bob
