4:41 PM [Rawschool] Lymes Disease

Hello, my name is Kristin. Friend and Member April Coburn " referred "

my husband Chris and me to this site. We are seeking guidance. we

have a bit of a wellness challenge. Chris spotted a " bulls-eye " rash

on his skin 3 days ago, accompanied by fever, brain fog, muscle aches

and overall fatigue. We suspect it is Lymes Disease. He went to the

local hospital for a blood test and doctor visit last night. The

general advice is to treat with antibiotic in order to prevent more

serious symptoms and infection. He's taken 2 doses of antibiotic. As

raw foodists, we know there is more to this picture in a whole person

healing sense. I suspect his immune system is compromised due to many

pulls on his mind, body, spirit, and emotions lately. Does any one

have " food for thought " regarding our situation. With gratitude,

Kristin

Hi Kristin,

Sounds as if you both may be feeling somewhat scared, perhaps because you

really need to understand and feel safe.

Would you be willing to share some additional information?

- Location/size of rash, texture, etc. Is it warm to the touch? Does it come

and go at all? Itch, Burn?

- More detail on fever -- temp, ups and downs, sensitivity to sleep, meals,

activity of any kind?

- Brain fog -- do you mean cognitive/awareness, or perhaps also balance,

sensory awareness, the like? Any changes in vision?

- Muscle aches -- where? Continuous or sporadic? Cramping (charlie-horse) or

more flu like or ???

- Any emotional shifts in Chris? Moods, etc.

- Recent stressful changes at work, money, family?

- changes in thirst, hunger/appetite?

- changes in sleep patterns?

- anything else these questions may jog loose?

Why do you suspect Lymes? Is there anything, any recent contact to which he

might be reacting? visit to some manufacturing plant, tour of a farm, new

chemicals in the garden, new soap, shampoo, laundry detergent, anything at

all that has changed during the past 4-5 days.

One piece of generic advice: as you care for and support Chris, take care of

yourself, as well. You cannot give what you do not have, so make sure you

have all that you need.

Hang in there,

Elchanan

Hi,

A bulls eye rash is enough to diagnose Lyme. (though in half of cases,

Lyme comes with no bull's eye rash, but if you've got one, you've

probably got Lyme. would need to see a picture of it to be sure. Make

sure you get a Western Blot, and not just the ELISA. The ELISA for

Lyme is remarkably inaccurate. Check out ilads.org for more

information (yes, it's a group of doctors, but they do know a lot

about Lyme. Consider getting tested for babesia and ehrlichia as well

as Lyme. (Ticks can be co-infected with multiple diseases.)

Also, even if your doctor doesn't have a clue what it is, get the LUAT

done, hmmm I think it's called LDAT these days, it's a Lyme disease

urine antigen test from Igenex.com. It's testing for actual Lyme, and

not just whether or not antibodies to Lyme show up in the blood.

(sometimes full-fledged infections get into deeper tissues, and a very

sick person can have negative blood antibody tests)

Where are you located? I can put you in touch with helpful folks on Lyme.

In general the Lyme physician community doesn't " get " raw food, but

there are some good folks who can be helpful.

By the way, the term is " Lyme " not " Lymes " just FYI.

I have a friend who cured her Lyme with high dose intravenous vitamin

C. She used the Klenner protocol. I used high dose antibiotics, and I

don't know what I'd do now. The antibiotics definitely messed up my

system. On the other hand my rash was a " multiple EM " basically from

head to ankles. The rash is where the spirochetes are, the bull's eye

is because the body sends an inflammatory response that turns the skin

red, and the expansion of the rash is because the spirochetes say,

" oh, temperature's too hot, I'm movin' outwards... " I didn't want any

spirochetes hanging around in my head, (Lyme can cause people to lose

IQ points by the dozens, really) I wanted them OUT of there. I

probably would go with antibiotics, if the same thing happened to me

now, but this time I would supplement with tons of probiotics, as

well. I'd probably experiment with the Klenner protocol first (vitamin

C is an antibiotic) if I was lucky enough to find a practitioner who

would do it.

Hyperbaric oxygen is another option.

Best Regards,

Margie
