Guest guest
all of following from LSHS, Lesson 40 - pp. 916-932 Instructor: Susan Hazard bracketed=direct quotes [Rationale: All drugs are poisonous substances which deplete the body of vital energy and interfere with normal body functions. No agent outside of the body possesses the ability to heal. Since all symptoms are mere indications that the body is attempting to heal itself by eliminating accumulated toxins, this effort should not be suppressed but instead left alone to complete its task. In order to regain health and maintain it, the conditions of health must be provided. ..... Key concepts Drugs are harmful agents becuase: 1. The add additional toxins (poisons) to the body. 2. They interfere with normal body metabolism. 3. They deplete vital energy. 4. The suppress the body's healing efforts. 5. They result in diseases which are worse than the ones they were supposed to " cure " . 6. They are totally without benefit (bob note: other than to the manufacturers, sales people, and all in that chain!) and create an illusion of " cure " by so devitalizing the body that it lowers or ceases its healing processes and no longer evinces healing symptoms. Saleint Facts 1. Drugs have been used for thousands of years but the healing force has always ben man's intrinsic ability of self-repair. This was the force behind all the " cures " and not the drugs. Drug practice is the outgrowth of the primitive concept of disease as an attacking evil which must be subdued. The modern version of this primitive conception substitutes germs for devils. 2. All drugs are poisons and always do much harm even when taken in small quantities. 3. Drugs suppress symptoms but symptoms are not the disease. They are the evidence of the body's effort to cleanse itself of unwanted debris (toxins) and repair damages. 4. All disease is the result of systemic poisoning (toxicosis). 5. In order to eliminate disease we must first discontinue the cause of disease and then provide all the conditions for health. 6. All drugs, when taken into the body, occasion a two-fold and contrary action, the secondary action being the opposite of primary action and the more lasting. (bob note: see separate post about the Law of Dual Effect) 7. Drugs cannot heal. There are no healing agencies outside of the human body.] and now for some quotes that I found interesting: " Stedman's Medical Dictionary defines a drug as 'A therapeutic agent; any substance, other than food, jused in the prevention, diagnosis, alleviation, treatment, or cure of disease in man and animal.' " the truth is that all drugs are poisons " " The fact is that every drug is a poison and every drug produces disease. " (bob note: because they are all " toxins " /poisons to the body) " In fact, the most common cause of chronic disease is drug treatment for acute disease. " " The ultimate result is increased suffering for a brief respite from pain. This is true of all suppressive measures. " " If a drug, which is a chemical substance, unites with th protein of the cell, it destroys the cell. It is precisely to prevent this union and thus save the life of the cell that the drug is resisted, rejected and expelled. All the action that is mistaken for drug action is cellular or organic action designed to protect and preserve life. " " So called drug effects are not drug actions but vital actions. " " Drugs suppress but never solve the problem of il health (toxicosis). In fact, drugs cause more ill health (toxicosis) " " One should dismiss this notion of " cure " forever from their thoughts. It is only the body which possesses this potential to heal itself and will do so when favorable conditions are provided. " " ..disease is a body-conducted remedial process... " " When men live in a manner to maintain a continuos toxin saturation, they are in line for the development of any disease to which diathesis or environment determines them. " " The first thing the body does when drugs are taken is to make an attempt at their removal through the bowels, the skin, the kidneys, the liver, the lungs, the mucous membranes, by vomiting or by other means. " " Sometimes due to lowered vitality, it is very difficult to expel certain toxic substances and may even be too difficult. Then the body adopts another technique for self-preservation - it stores them away in the bones' fatty tissues or eveh creates sacs called cysta or tumors for this purpose. " " This is to say, the body mends itself when causes are removed. No healing can take place without removal of cause. " " The action occurring between the body and drugs is exclusively vital action, power being expended, not generated. " " ...unhygienic conditions of life give rise to a toxic state of the body. " " Sleep requirements vary from person to person but generally if you wake up without the aid of an alarm clock and feel rested and energetic, then you have obtained enough sleep. If not, you had better go to bed a little earlier or take a nap during the day. " " So great has grown popular reliance upon the drug practice and so thoroughly have the people been indoctrinated in the belief of drugs, that the practice has become a greater threat to mankind than the nuclear bomb. " V. Vetrano, p928 " I cannot repeat too often than anything that the living organism cannot make into living tissue or use in any of its metabolic processes is a poison. " That's all folks! all the best, Bob (fellow journeyman)
