I have to say how much of a valued resource this forum is to my journey on raw foods. I haven't gone 100% yet (more like 92-95%) and the detox is beginning to get a little intense. A few days after having a acu-dox session, I woke up with my eyes crusted shut and a runny nose with flu-like symptoms. needless to say I'm a bit cranky...lol. I have a question I hope someone can answer. I have suffered from chronic eczema and fat deposits beneath my eyes for the past 20 years (since I was 12). the eczema is in two spots on my body and does not spread. years ago a naturopath casually said that the bumbs under my eyes were fat deposits and that my body was not processing fat. he reommended that i get my choloestrol checked(which i never did). This incident took place several years ago and it was the only time any physician showed an interest or displayed any knowledge on what was going on. Others just shrugged and made up something just to sound helpful. the only time i noticed both of these conditions decreasing would be when i went vegan and during the few attempts at being raw, they went away. Now the eczema I've figured it's from my allergies, but this thing with the fat deposits got me freaked. Has anyone ever experienced/heard of fat deposits under the skin? And if so what are your insights? All of the research I've done with skin disorders and processing fat points to kidneys stress. If others come to this conclusion, what would be an effective cleans for the kidneys? I hope I'm not asking for too much. I am impressed and inspired by the body of knowledge some of you possess regarding diet and natural health. Thank you all for being here, Isabella _____ Hi Isabella and all, What a wonderful, clear, complete expression of the information and support you seek, thank you so much for offering us all this opportunity to give to you. I'd choose to begin by briefly discussing the general nature of symptoms. Throughout our culture, from government and " medical science " to traffic management and potholes, we have all been " educated " to identify symptoms as problems. This systemic confusion leads many, in fact, most people to try and " cure " or " solve " or " get rid of " these symptoms, in the mistaken belief that we will be better off for having done so. Such is the nature of virtually " therapies; " they seek, by some means, to eliminate the symptoms we experience. So we try to " get rid of " pain, hunger, cravings, blemishes on our skin, body weight, and so forth, even unto cancer. But the fallacy therein is great and destructive to us all. For, in any biological organism, from the smallest virus to the largest mammal (whale), from the simplest life forms to the most complex (which we, " naturally, " hold to be ourselves), the symptoms are the solutions-in-progress. My very first RF teacher, Pam Masters, made a great impression on me when she taught that every symptom is the body's brilliant response to the conditions I have created. Since then I have further come to understand that each symptom is a messenger, a signal from our subconscious mind sent through our body to inform our conscious awareness. For example, a simple sore throat means " don't eat now. " A typical headache means " drink some water, don't eat, lie down for a bit. " And so on. Many speak of listening to our bodies, but few nowadays possess the connection with self, the self-awareness, even to NOTICE the signals of the body, much less to " listen " and interpret those signals. For most of us, this art of interpretation must be relearned. (We were all born with this knowledge, but it has been " educated " right out of us.) And above all else, in my experience, this is why we need teachers, so that we may learn from the experiences of others. For only by doing so can we learn what they have learned AND THEN go beyond where they have journeyed. To do otherwise is simply stubborn arrogance, no matter how eloquently or elegantly such resistance may be expressed. In this instance, Isabella, while many would have you spend your hard-earned resources on this or that cleanse, there are those of us who, having already tried and abandoned such practices, can tell you with comfort and ease that your symptoms are common, that they will yield naturally and with the greatest of ease to your ever-improving health, if only you will choose to continue creating such health. How, then, does one create health? Fortunately, the answer is the same for all humans, and quite consistent across primates and mammals in general. We all need to live in harmony with Nature to the greatest extent we can, or more correctly, are willing. Simply put: - Continue eating your RF, continue improving your diet. Definitely cut the salt, minimize the fat. The high-fruit approach some of us discuss will do this for you quite automagically, if you are willing to learn a few simple guidelines. - Eat enough for your system. Undereating can never produce lasting, viable health, and weight loss (for those interested in that) is always a self-defeating goal. Seek to create health, get rid of nothing. Rather, choose to return to the world all that has served you well in the past and that you no longer need. - Go outside, breath fresh air, get sunshine (but not sunburn). - Be physically active at whatever level you can, and push yourself just a little beyond that point on a regular basis. If nothing else, buy a rebounder (Needak is the best brand) and just sit on it and gently bounce yourself up and down; eventually, your capacity will increase quite naturally and effortlessly. - Find things that make you laugh and smile. There is more, of course, but you get the picture, I hope. If you concentrate your attention, your INtention, and your energy on matters such as these, the other " stuff " will leave quite willing on its own. Guest guest
Hello Everyone! Thank you, Elchanan, for your response and insight. I'm glad you touched upon the notion of manifesting our own symptoms, as I've been exploring this onlong my healing path. This process has been one of the most exhilarating and challenging experiences I've ever had to go through. Not just on a physical level, but emotionally and spiritually. But little by little I see the rewards of sticking through it...be it a clearer mind, losing some excess weight, clear skin and (one of my favorites) not having acid reflux anymore. For the first time in over 12 years I am experiencing health and have realized how SICK I was, even though I was comparatively healthy to most Americans. It makes me sad to think of how many people have become disempowered in their beliefs regarding health, diet and life. It's as if being obese, with stiches in the colon, and organs chopped inhalf is a NORMAL state of health. I'm just fortunate that I've woken up to the madness and am starting to heal myself. Thanks again and I hope y'all have a great day:) Isabella Mail Mobile Take Mail with you!
