As we mature it may seem like more of a challenge to change our lifestyle habits, so bravo to you! My dad would say " I have been eating this way all my life and I am not about to change now " And I say " fine - then stop whinging about your heart condition! " But actually - I DO understand. To take his routine and comfort away would probably be a too big a depression for him. He likes to make jams, wine and sometimes hunts meat. As far as the restaurants are concerned - I just wouldnt want to sit and eat a salad at a restaurant knowing that my own would probably be more palatable. In these situations I am prone to envy of what others are eating so joyfully! When serious about raw foods I never go to restaurants actually. During transition I would phone ahead to ensure they made a vegeterian dish without cheese, pulses or eggs. I would suggest veggies stuffed with rice. Butternut squash, avocado, tofu. I would know the kind of place that could make an elegant meal out of the finest ingredients. A place that is VERY willing to serve customers with the highest of intentions. And I would be quite prepared to pay a large bill for it! As for slugs.. Where did you come up with that one?! :) Gave me a laugh! xx Kay
