Guest guest
Joanie: At 57 years of age I have started working banquets. It is an " upscale " enviroment also, - peeled potatoes instead of powdered (LOL). But I know they are anti-organic and living foods is a joke to them. Here is how I survive. I take a 5-10 minute break every two hours (whether they like it or not) I just leave when during a lull. I bring my own food and filtered water and two pairs of shoes. During the break I eat or drink what I need and change shoes (this makes a big difference in foot comfort) I lie down in my car if necessary but better is on a flat surface - bench or clean floor even (this helps straighten out my spine and I put an eye pillow over my eyes and just relax. When the gang takes their free meal I disappear again and do my routine for recharging my batteries. When I teach dance for 4 or more hours I will rotate between 3 or more pairs of shoes. Even better is taking a break and going barefoot or stocking feet (LOL). I actually get to do this if I have a yoga private in the middle of dance privates. Over time learn a little foot massage technique and use that also during your break or before and after work. Wishing you a safe and uphill journey (anyone can slide downhill LOL) Bill Joanie <christmasbaby1956 Re: Re: **OT** New Job in S.A.D. Restaurant - Yikes! Guest guest
Bill - Thanks for your feedback. These are excellent suggestions. I had not thought of bringing a 2nd pair of shoes with me to work, but I think that I will try that. The shoes that I will be wearing are really supportive, but after 4 or more hours, it may very well help to rotate to another pair. Yes - I believe that this restaurant probably has peeled potatoes vs powdered, LOL. wMilmoe wrote: Joanie: At 57 years of age I have started working banquets.
