Guest guest
sheri, I'm sorry about your allergies. :-( I have asthma so I'm allergic to stuff like perfume and animal dander, toxic chemicals like bleach. Thankfully, I'm not allergic to the outdoors. I feel though that being raw has helped my allergies since I'm using my inhaler hardly at all now. I do get wheezy in church though when the old ladies hug up on me bc they wear tons of perfume. Instead of reaching for the puffer though I do deep breathing and that helps. I have a lot of raw books. My faves are: Hooked on Raw Raw Family Conscious Eating Nature's First Law Raw Knowledge Raw Knowledge II Living on Live Foods (book and DVD) As far as feeling faint, I've definitely had those periods. I'm no expert, but I do think it's part of the process of cleaning out the body. I was lucky in that when I went raw, I wasn't working at the time so I could spend the day in bed or read. I got to really focus on healing for Dec. and Jan. and that really helped the whole healing/transition process. I felt the same way you do about the medical community. They put me on all these drugs which had horrible side effects and they didn't even help. They would just take my money, write out a script and send me away. I was desperately ill, so I just plunged into the juice fast, then all-raw after that. I just chucked all my drugs in the trash (I don't recommend this, but I did it anyway). It wasn't easy, but I'm so glad I did it bc now I feel FANTASTIC. My husband is totally amazed bc believe it or not sometimes my breathing was so labored and painful I thought I was going to die and we were actually talking about making arrangements, stuff like that, just in case. When I would wheeze, instead of reaching for the drugs I would do yogic breathing exercises and lie on the couch with a hot compress against my chest to loosen up the phlegm. I drank a ton of hot tea, that helped too. I would meditate, focusing on my breathing so that I could " make peace " with my lungs even though they were giving me pain. I basically spent a month like this, unable to walk across the house without getting winded. Spent most of my time on the couch and in the bathroom, doing enemas, in the kitchen, prepearing the juices. It's kind of wild to think about now bc it wasn't that long ago yet it feels like another lifetime. Didn't mean for this to be so long. I hope you find the answers you're looking for in terms of regaining your health, whether it's in going raw or some other method of natural healing. swing --- sheriljay <sheri wrote: > Swing, > Were/Are you chemically sensitive? Guest guest
Thanks Swing, Your story is inspiring. I feel like going raw is what my body needs to heal. But when I feel so faint and weak (and starving) I wonder if I'm doing the right thing. So now I realize it is my body healing and I should go with it. So you are saying you more or less spent 2 months resting and detoxing when you started this and then the weakness went away. I can handle that. Right now with the air pollution so bad I'm more or less stuck in bed all the time anyways as it's affecting my lungs and just wiping me out. Thanks for the raw food cookbook ideas. Sheri PS I'm not working either right now as I was fired for being disabled. Need to get able so I can work again:)
Guest guest
It could also mean you are not getting enough food.. have you used nutridiary.com to follow what you eat.. I found this feeling of dizziness and weakness to also be me not ingesting enough food for me.. Since I have used nutridiary.com.. I have felt much better and do not feel many of the detox symtoms... I was surprised ...when I thought I was eating way too much food for a days time.. I found that I was only getting half what I should be gettting... sheriljay <sheri wrote:Thanks Swing, Your story is inspiring. I feel like going raw is what my body needs to heal.
