Guest guest
Can someone explain to me who came up with these numbers and why? Hmm . . . is that really my question? Okay, a friend of mine asked me where I got the 10% figure from because she didn't believe it was the " standard " of a good diet. I am looking for information to back up the 10% theory. Thanks. Thanks. > > Donna ---- Hi Donna... I know that Dr. Douglas Graham is one of the people putting life into the 10-80-10. As to they why, it comes from what is considered our " natural dietary " - what works best for mankind. From T.C. Fry's " The Life Science Health System " , " ...In no area of our living regimes do we transgress our biological mandate as grievously as in the matter of diet. If our correct diet is fruitarian fare, then America consumes less than 10% of its correct dietary. Since the bulk of America's fruit is consumed by less than 25% of our populace, it should come as no surporse that there is such a great preponderance of disease amongst us. " America lead the industrialized nations in poor health. Soo...we know what we're doing, via the SAD diet, is *not* working, and we're beginning to accumulate data showing that other diets, like 10-80-10 work much better. I enjoyed the comment about " ...she didn't believe that it was the... " of course not! lol! We become firmly entrenched in our beliefs, in being right. something about the earth being flat, and Copernicus comes to mind...again quoting T.C. Fry " ..Be forewarned that many people are difficult to persuade. They will not believe you against all the dead weight of habituation and wrong practices. But our natural dietary is not a matter of belief. It is a matter of knowledge - of being armed with the truth about our dietary character. " When we are inundated with the billions of dollars of marketing/ad campaigns from the dairy and meat industry, and these same industries provide " nutritional " training programs to our school children and our doctors in training, it's not surprising that we grow up " believing " a certain way about diet. And, we mustn't forget, most of us are deeply vested in our beliefs: we want/need them to be correct. My personal experience is that my friends/acquaintances/family are most receptive when they observe changes in me, and then ask questions about what I've been doing. Then I can be " responsible " , able to respond, and explain what's what. Good luck..have fun. all the best, Bob
