of a joke while you do it. I post my experience with happiness,

which I wanna share. I understand we are all in different places. I

do not feel any negative affects with my smoothies, but would change

them if I did. So I would like support here for where I am, which is

really happy with being raw almost all the time, with nuts in my

diet, not being 80/10/10 (although I'm intrigued of by it), and

imperfectly combined. I used to get out bed maybe one day in three.

I used to hurt all over and have terrible headaches. Since going

raw, I don't have headaches any more and I feel well every day. For

me this is a miracle. I hope others are able to have an experience

as positive as this. For the record Kay, I was not as upset at your

post, as at Elchanan's, using my post and yours, but addressed to

you as if I wasn't there. Anyway, I'll stop now....Happy raw day,

all, Lane

A few things Lyn;

I hear you.x

In some ways it is true - When suddenly one becomes so fanatical for

food combining, it can seem excessive when only " yesterday " " we "

were eating fruit salad with cream after a meal of roast meat and

potatoes (or something...!)

However, in my experience it usually does matter more when you are

eating 100% raw, unless you have a strong digestive system. (and

even then it is still important of course)

Personally my system can digest fruit easier when mixed with live

yoghurt before it can with nuts; and yes - even the cream would be

easier than the nuts. Not that i recomend either; but you see my

point? -It is highly individual.

If you read my post about the " testimonials " ... There are people

out there who say this raw food diet is " bad " for you and that it is

deficient etc.. These people may be doing all kinds of things with

their food which slow down digestion, cause burden on the system

etc.. And then they wonder why the diet eventually didnt work.

Perhaps it would have been better if Elchanan had explained this

instead of the reply you picked up - but in any event..

It is a good idea to take some notice with food combining. i would

not want anyone to go through the sheer agony i have put myself

through by getting the diet " wrong " (so to speak)

This is not intended to frighten you - Please enjoy your food! It is

of course brilliant to hear your progress: TRULY.

Have you tried making seed/nut milks? These are a little less of a

burden on the system than using the whole nut in your smoothie..

For example you could have

seed milk/strawberries/dates and soft greens.

Bananas do tend to ferment more when their digestion is slowed down,

The dates would offer you plenty of calories and " Yum " factor :)

Or try bananas/seed milk but leave out the kale. chew on some celery

afterward instead.

Have you actually tried a smoothie without any nuts/seeds or kale? -

How did you feel? - Just a thought..

Just a suggestion - and certainly sent with love dear.

xx Kay

Dear Kay. Thanky ou for your suggestions. I never objected to people promoting

food combining here. What I objected to was people making fun of others to make

a point. Please understand the difference. I don't see the difference you

mention between nut milk and nuts. I mix the nuts with water to make nut milk.

How is that different than using nut milk. Please explain. Thank you. Lane

PS Just to be clear. I put almonds in a vita mix. I grind them into powder. I

add water. I blend. Now I have almond milk. (it comes from the almonds, which

were WHOLE before I ground them up to make milk.,_) I add dates to sweeten. I

add bananas and then berries. then some sort of greens. yesterday was

watercress.

PPS Yes I have often made smoothies without nuts? Why do you ask?
