hello all!

quick exercise/tennis story...

I play on a men's 3.5 USTA team. We had an away match today, and one

of our " normal " singles players wasn't available, and, as captain, I

decided to stick myself in that slot. I hadn't played any singles

matches all season yet..

long story short: I was able to play competitive tennis for just

under 3 hours, including two tie-breaks, both of which I won, and

this match win also won the match for our team! yoo-hoo!

~3 years ago, I could only play about 20-30 before I was completely

exhausted. Sure, I was a bit tired, somewhat sore, and nothing like

it was 3 years ago. Then, I'd also need a boatload of some NSAID (non-

steroid, anti-inflammatory drug, e.g., Ibuprofen, Adivl, etc..etc..)

to be even able to walk at all! lol! (although it wasn't at all

funny then..)

then I'd moved on to Fish Oil (Sears' Pharmaceutical grade..at

~$70/month...) I can buy a *lot* of bananas for $70/month! lol!

yes..yes..pure fat...

I took a Banana, dates and raisins to the match with me. Along with

some water...

Stamina is *hugely* better than 3 years ago, and I feel much better

since last September when I went Raw, and probably even better since

this February when I've gone mostly Frugivore. and yes, I've kept up

my cardio exercise, and I've added rebounding on a routine basis.

have a great weekend.

all the best,

Bob

Thanks, Valerie!

and as I was riding back with one of my teammates, he was telling me

how fired up he was: what a wonderful inspiration I was to him, what

fortitude I'd shown (he's several years younger, and working on coming

back from " X " years off from playing tennis).

On the road to the courts, as he got out of his power bars, and was

eating it, and commenting on that being one of his energy sources, I

carefully interjected that I was just finishing up my breakfast

smoothie of bananas, dates, celery and water, and he

replied: " oh...that's too healthy for me... " ....we had a short

conversation that didn't really go anywhere.

And for me, I see it like many other things, like gardening: first you

prepare the soil/ground (create the right environment), then you plant

the seed, then you water/fertilize/nurture the seedling.

In this case, I think I've laid some groundwork, and maybe planted a

small see.

all the best,

Thanks again,

Bob
