Guest guest
Are there any men out there with eating " dis-order " ?! Or is it just the women? Its not JUST rawfood diet that holds the people having problems. Those " normal " folk out there struggle with ALL kinds of eating dis- order too! And then yuh know what happens?.. Some assy " git " says " This raw food diet is bad for you " Here's what I heard from the general public only recently.. 1. " I heard bananas are high in potasium and you shouldnt eat too many " 2. " No wonder you are anorexic if you just eat fruit " 3. " You vegeterains are slowing down the evolution of man - we have evolved to eat meat " (I never liked meat, so what am I - an extinct species?!) 4. " Your brain won't work on that " 5. Bananas are constipating 6. " I can't eat avocados I am on a diet. Bananas?! - Gosh no, they are far to high in calories " I am inclined to agree about Elchanan's concern on people casually handing out suggestions. Perhaps it was wrongly directed, I don't know about that. However I am sure he holds some kind of responsible feeling, being as he obviously has alot of experience and knowledge in this area. (How can you reply all these postings so fast?! And you tell me you are NOT a computer!) Having said that - For those of us who are " born worriers " (as they say) I think it would be nice to follow along with bobo's view on life! (Are your Irish, Bob?) Advice to me recently was 'stop trying to fix problems and build health'. Last year hair analysis and 24hr urine sample showed severe chromium, magnesium and zinc depletion. (Plus some other issues) However, I have just been encouraged to give up algae/ bee pollen etc, that I purchased instead of chemical supplements. Am I suppose to start worrying again? Am I living in ignorance by not supplementing my diet? I have taken a leap of faith, believing mind over matter for the healing " cure " . Not that my mind is much use to me lately! So I prayed for guidance from a higher source than my own control and confusion.. Aid swiftly followed. I have trusted those whom I believe have experience. Having spent time at some raw-health clinics both for work and education, I have seen this trusted experience work for many. In reading some previous posts I came across a line, quote " They say anorexia is an addiction and more about the control than the food - Can't think why anyone would want to control anything?! " Well, what would they know if they haven't 'been there'?! I think there are some, lets say " fortunate " individuals who either had a comfotable upbringing OR " decided " upon a comfortable route " before they came here " (so to speak) And the rest of us - Perhaps we already climbed that mountain in the previous lifetime and chose a somewhat larger mountain for this life's encounter?! (bit of a joke here - i think we need it?) Perhaps we have no control over the hand we are dealt? But we have free will in how we act out that hand?.. Whatever it is, the purpose of life is to RE-MIND other's so they can RE-MEMBER who they are. (co-Creators with " God " )LOVE I think it is likely we all have good intentions both to succeed and help one another. I am one of those who has questions as to why some people fair better on a raw food diet. I believe it is perfect if you are brought up this way and live in a suitable climate. For anyone who has encountered serious illness of any nature, including mental, or living in a northern climate without quality produce may be up for a marathon!..(perhaps?) On the other hand it could all be down to what you tell your mind to believe.. At the end of the day BELIEVE IS ALL THERE IS I am sure that Nutri-diary is a genius for the 21st century; Whilst I'm lingering in " worry-mode " I decided it was best not to " go there " . My advice to anyone is.. " if in doubt leave it out " ! If you are still in doubt ask an experienced professional who works holistically, but pray/meditate about it first. Thanks EVERYONE - It sure is good to be part of the group now! (I think it was Bob, saying he was happy that myself and everyone had come along here..)
