I am new to the list... well, as a poster. I have lurked for a while, but this is my first post. I am eating about 2/3 of my meals/ food intake raw... I eventually would like to become 100 % raw, but it's difficult for me. I suffered from an eating disorder from childhood through my first years of college. I have been well from the e.d. for four years now, and feel positively about eventually going raw... maybe not forever, but for a while. Are there any resources for me that are specifically in regard to eating disorder issues? Also, one other question. The first time I went completely raw, I developed canker/cold sores inside and outside of my mouth... I had only had them two previous times, when I was really sick. Last month I went totally raw for a week and a half and I developed the sores again! Is this a symptom of detox, a symptom of the types of raw food I was eating, etc?? Coincidence??? " Focus on what is present for you now. If you presently experience challenges eating is you wish, then if you would be kind enough to describe your present experiences in some detail, perhaps others here can help and support you. Similarly, regarding those sores, they could arise from many causes. Again, if you would describe what you are actually eating for the couple of weeks before, during and after that " totally raw " timeframe, we could probably help you out more effectively. Actually, I had anorexia from a young age until I was 18, then I had both anorexia and bulimia until I was 20. I went through treatment from age 17-20, and now, four years later, I am free of the eating disorder. Very stereotypical, singer/dancer/actor/sensitive young girl develops an eating disorder, etc. My luck is that I got great care and treatment, and had an awesome group of family and friends. I just am going to be very careful as I go raw that it is for health, that I am sensible, and that I always respect my body and the integrity of my body mind connection as I am embarking on this journey.
