But when the leaching becomes continuous, replenishment becomes impossible, and bone density loss, tooth decay, and other degenerative events are set in motion. Eventually, a " calcium deficiency " may be observed. But this deficiency results primarily and directly from the long term result of toxicity, and only secondarily from any corresponding primary dietary deficiency. Hi Elchanan, I really enjoy and appreciate your posts. I'm very active in sports, recreation, intense bodyweight exercises, etc. I don't get stressed easily with my job; however I do like to exert myself physically. My question is: Is my body taking this active lifestyle as increased stress or fight/flight, causing unnecessary acidity (requiring buffering) in my body - never allowing my body to put a cork in the drain and fill up my mineral bathtub? I certainly want to keep my hair (my mother's brother and dad are cue balls!), strong bones and decay resistant teeth, etc. Thanks for being such a wonderful and complete source of knowledge and for guiding us (me!) in our paths for more health! - Sean _____ Hi Sean, First thanks so much for your kind words! I appreciate that very much. Second, I notice that you wrote to me privately, so I replied in the same manner. If you are comfortable, I will post this to the whole group. Regarding your actual question, this is an issue of aggregate (multiple factors considered together) and cumulative (over time) effects. You may have seen a post I wrote earlier today, addressing Bob Farrell's comments about his protein consumption as an athlete. If you keep the protein and fat way down, and if you buy organic or better foods, and given that you say you handle emotional stress well, then you should be just great! Dr. Doug Graham and Dr. Tim Trader are both very long-term RFs and also both work out 2-4 hours daily. They also consume less than 10% of calories each from protein and fat, and almost all of that from fruits and greens. Hope this helps you!
