4:06 PM [Raw Food] Sleeping in the open air

Hi, folks, just thought I would bounce a question off this group: Do any of

you sleep outside on a regular basis? I remember both reading a book and

listening to a presentation by Victoria Boutenko in which she talked about

the family arranging things with their home in such a way that they were

able to sleep outside most of the year. This has intrigued me; my husband

and I camp several times a year, including our two week vacation in the

fall, when we go to the upper peninsula of Michigan (absolutely Paradise

that time of year), and I never sleep better than when we are in the camper

(it's a pop-up, basically a tent on wheels ). We live in a fairly quiet

suburban area, and I've been toying with the idea of setting up a screen

tent in the back yard for sleeping during the spring through fall seasons.

I'm not sure how we would go about it, using cots, or setting up some kind

of platform, but screening in the patio area appears to be prohibitive

(ranging from 8 to 10 thousand

dollars); and a $100 dollar screen tent is much more doable. My husband is

not even close to being convinced that this would be a good thing, but I'm

working on it.

Anyone here doing anything like this? I should mention that we live in south

central PA, and the weather would allow for this from April through November

(excepting major rain days).

Thanks for any input...Valerie

Hi Valerie,

If you have the land and the zest for outdoor living, go for it. Outdoor

air, when not terribly polluted, is MUCH healthier than indoor air,

particularly in most homes these days. And you'll increase your body

oxygenation noticeably, that's why you sleep so well. It's a wonderful idea!

suggestion... when not able to sleep outside... set a fan with back to open

window... and let blow on you or near your direction at night.. this is what I

do... the fresh air is wonderful... and the fan acts like the breeze... very

nice... i sleep next to the window since I am so hot natured.. hubby sleeps on

other side of bed... the circulation of the air in the room makes both of us

sleep much better... not sleeping outside but is the next best thing...
