AM rawfood [Raw Food] Bananas - 2 quick stories

Hello all!

Almost all of the bananan were green...really green...rats...so I bought

quite a few of them and brought them home. By this weekend, they still had

not ripened. I set a coule of bunches outside in the sun, in 70-80F degree

weather...no change..hmm..

---

2nd story:

I bundled up the unripe banans (about 7-8 pounds of them) and headed off to

the store...they exchanged them, and when I went to check out the cashier

starts bundling up almost all of the bananas I'd selected, and says I get a

special price, $0.19/lb becaise they had lots of brown spots on them (vs.

normal price here in FL of $0.69)WOHOO! such a deal...and they said they

" frequently " put them on sale, because they get the brown spots... GREAT

news...

Hi Bob and all,

Bob, remember those bananas that fermented in your pantry awhile back? You

can try accelerating ripening by putting them in a closed paper bag,

sometimes helps. Also try adding an avocado, outgasses similarly as bananas.

May or may not work, if the bananas are really too green, then that is that.

We have frequently found such food bargains. We actually went a step

further, befriending the produce manager, then asking him/her to call us

whenever they have " overripe " organic bananas. We pick them up, they get

their money, everyone feels better off. Just tell the store you'll buy all

such bananas, if only they will call you, and of course check frequently to

make sure they " still have your number. " :)

Best,

Elchanan
