Guest guest
Thanks Elchanan! Things are getting better and better. A few weeks back I mentioned to Don that I had been thinking (now, it isn't all that dangerous - come back to your computer and relax with me a moment . . . <smile>) that if you are what you eat then you must definitely smell like what you eat. I kept thinking of the days 4+ years ago when I used to go to the drive-up window at places like McDonalds, Burger King and Wendy's and as soon as they opened the window you could smell this stench from the food they were cooking in there. At the time of my conversation with Don I mentioned that I wondered if people who ate raw would eventually be able to go without using deodorant because they would no longer have the high level of toxins in their bodies and Don agreed that would be the case. Well, as of today I have been 5 days deodorant free (I'm starting to feel like I'm in an AA meeting here - LOL!) without any offensive odors at all. I wish you could have seen two of my co-workers when I told them that today - and then they wanted to get close to smell me to see if I had " body odor. " The look on their faces was priceless! LOL! When I said I was washing my hair with either lemon or plain water they didn't believe that for a second - until they smelled my hair. Ya, ya - they still give me a hard time about being a " crunchie " person but I don't care in the least! I feel fantastic! For the first time in I don't remember when I don't feel like I have a heavy dark wet blanket thrown over my head. Ya, the depression lifted significantly when I took refined sugar out of my diet two years ago but this is even better than that! I sleep at night!!! I actually lay my head down on my pillow, close my eyes and go to sleep! That has not happened probably since I was a small child. I have always, always suffered from insomnia and would sleep four hours or less each night. My mother passed away a year ago and the stress brought about because of that loss caused me to not only overeat but to overeat ice cream and cookies and candy bars, (ad nauseum). About 8 weeks ago my doctor told me that if I didn't get my blood sugars under control that she was going to put me on medication. (I'm a Type-II diabetic which has been controlled with diet and exercise.) So I called a person who specializes in stress and eating disorders and scheduled an appointment. Well, our appointments kept getting canceled because of nor'easter storms and other scheduling conflicts. My appointment with her was two weeks after I started eating raw food. I canceled the appointment telling her that I found a way to remove my stress by changing the way I ate. Just two weeks!!!! Actually I didn't need to wait that long but I wanted to be sure that it was eating raw food that had brought about the change in me. Learning how to eat raw couldn't have come about at a better time. Our family just got together for the anniversary of my mother's passing. If I hadn't begun eating raw the stress of the anniversary of her passing would have been even more difficult to deal with. Woooohooooo!!! Go Raw! Donna - - - - - Hi Donna, The difference is you! Your body, your skin are different. In the past, you may have used shaving cream or lotion to insulate your skin from the razor. But now your body is rebuilding your skin, bring all the layers back to full functionality, building cells in the epithelium (outer layer) that are stronger and have much greater structural integrity. Congratulations!!! Elchanan
