Guest guest
Any women out there who have experience going through perimenopause/menopause while being raw? Have you discovered any positive benefits of being raw? I know that my PMS is gone, but wonder about what others have experienced? thanks, Leslie
Guest guest
Hello Leslie - I have not been raw for very long but I can say that I was having hormonal problems before with mood swings and upsets at times and I had to take Evening Primrose supplements (high dosage too)when on cooked foods to keep on a level so to speak - since changing to raw I do not take any supplements and I feel good. More settled than I have ever been in my life actually. Love Lynne ---- chai_mama 04/18/05 16:54:39 rawfood [Raw Food] attn: Ladies! Guest guest
Hi Leslie ~ Because I've been yo-yo raw (staying 99% raw for about 2-3 months at a time), my answer won't be as valid as someone who has been consistently raw. I can say that when I am raw, there are no hot flashes! Annette rawfood , " chai_mama@j... Guest guest
Leslie, I've only been eating raw food for 37 days but since the very beginning of those 37 days I stopped experiencing night sweats, hot flashes, moodiness, insomnia, etc. I have to say that prior to these past 37 days I was having such a horrible time with night sweats that I was considering hormone replacement therapy - both against my fiance's objections and my own better judgment. It has become a non-issue now. I hope this helps! Donna - - - Any women out there who have experience going through perimenopause/menopause while being raw? Guest guest
Leslie. I have been raw for 7 months. My hot flashes have dissappeared. I went back on cooked food for a period of several weeks a couple of months ago and the symptons returned. Now I am back on raw and they are gone again. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Lane~ Thanks for your helpful response-- that is exactly what I wanted to hear. Guest guest
Thanks Lynne for the info! I've had hormonal problems all my life & noticed an EXTREME improvement when I dropped meat/chicken/fish/dairy. I have not been consistently raw, but have been pretty raw for about 3 yrs. (before that I was vegan macrobiotic). I do notice even more improvement (I hardly even notice that I am getting my period anymore & it used to be a huge, traumatic event/physically & emotionally!). I just wondered how it helped with menopause--I hear such horror stories & don't want to experience what SAD women experiencE! thanks, leslie
