A lot of bad smells - (still some going on so I hope a little fast will help to speed up the process a bit!) I noticed something today on one of the 16 year olds - he has a lot of growths " - little warty looking things - especially a bigger one on his head which he used to bump and cause to bleed - the vet said they were benign and " what older dogs get " - well this thing has disappeared off his head without a trace so obviously the raw food is doing something to heal him. Just a patch of dark hair where it was before. I will see what happens with the other growths - hopefully they will go the same way. He is stiff in his joints and he has lost his fasting mechanism - the other three have lost it too ( Kay was right) so by withholding food today it will be actually 48 hours until the next meal. I believe it can only do the all good and to continue with the raw food afterwards is so much better for them - if I do it for me - why not do it for them. Love Lynne _____ Interesting isn't it, when we cleanse we smell badly for awhile, and when the dogs to whom we feed our western dog foods cleanse they do the same. Rot is rot and fermentation is fermentation, no matter they occur! Lynne, your story about the bump on the head disappearing reminds of an old story about Ann Wigmore. I have never attempted to verify this story, but there are at least a few people who " swear " it's substantively true. Here goes ... Once, Ann was visiting a veterinarian's office and noticed a monkey with a large nodule protruding from its forehead. Ann asked the vet about this, and the vet informed her that the monkey had advanced cancer. Ann asked permission to take the monkey home for a month, and the vet agreed. During that month, Ann fed the monkey her version of a very healthy diet, and the nodule completely disappeared. She then returned to the vet with the monkey. Upon seeing the monkey, the vet was surprised and asked Ann what she had done. She told him about the raw food, to which the vet replied, " That's impossible, there is no known relationship between nutrition and cancer. " So Ann offered to take the monkey for a second month, during which she fed the monkey its typical fare, monkey chow or whatever. Of course, the nodule returned, in the same place, same size, same color, same hardness as before. Once again the vet asked what Ann had done, and she explained. Again the vet replied, " That's impossible, there is no known relationship between nutrition and cancer. " So Ann took the monkey for one more month. As during the first month, she fed the monkey a very healthy diet, and once again the nodule disappeared completely. And as before, upon explaining to the vet, the vet replied, " That's impossible, there is no known relationship between nutrition and cancer. " I have heard that you cannot teach an old dog new tricks. But I have also learned that the real challenge is in identifying the old dog!
