Hi Breezi, would you consider another dentist? The ONE thing dentists are

absolutely do correctly is mechanical stuff, they are highly trained

mechanics. If this one destroyed your tooth once, never go back. Where do

you live?

RE: [Raw Food] Having a tooth pulled....

Hello,

I realize that this isn't an interesting topic but I am having a tooth

pulled on Monday and to tell you the truth, I'm a little nervous about it.

This is the last tooth on the bottom and the dentist said I won't have any

trouble chewing because of it's removal. I chose this dentist about 4 years

ago because she will remove amalgam fillings (correctly from everything I

have read about this process) but she is also big on taking lots of

(expensive) supplements afterwards (which she sells) " to help the body get

rid of the mercury " . When she removed the filling in this tooth a few years

ago she also drilled too deep and hit the nerve several times. She said I

would probably loose the tooth because of it. Now about 4 years later she

tells me from my x-rays that the tooth is abscessed and must be removed. I

don't take supplements and refused to do so when she took the filling out 4

years ago. My guess is she will want me to take something after she pulls

the tooth on Monday. Is there actually anything that I should take or do

after having the tooth pulled? I'm not real excited about this but the tooth

is broken and she said not enough there to even cap. Any advise would be

appreciated on this issue. Thanks in advance, Breezi

Hi Elchanan,

Thank you for responding. I live across the Narrows Bridge just west of

Tacoma in Washington State. I have checked with almost every dentist w/in a

reasonable distance for me to drive and most will NOT remove amalgam

fillings, or some will but don't use proper methods. This dentist I am going

to does not believe in amalgam fillings or fluoride and is very health

conscious. In fact, many years ago when I was vegan she is the one who told

me about Victoria Boutenko and that started us on our raw journey. We

actually stayed 100% raw for 2 years (now struggling to get back there).

The tooth in question had a huge amalgam filling in it and was broken

and decayed. At the time she wanted to put a cap on it but I said I wanted

to think about it so she put in a temp filling which lasted 2 years then

most of it fell out. When I went back she said that there was more decay and

she could remove it and put in a permanent filling. The decay was deep and

when she hit the nerve she told me then I would probably loose it. It lasted

2 more years then started coming out because there isn't enough tooth left

to hold a filling. So, it is my fault that I didn't listen to her in the

first place 4 years ago and I'm sure the tooth would have been saved. I have

read from others of good dentists in the Seattle area but I can not go that

far. Don't know if this tells you what you wanted to hear but I checked

w/allot of dentists and I do feel very comfortable with her and the fact

that she is the only one who knew about the benefits of a raw food diet, and

the only dentist I talked to who believes that fluoride is bad. I have a

mouth full of bad teeth, always have since I was young. In fact one thing I

noticed is the fact that all the bad teeth in my mouth are the ones with the

big mercury fillings. The teeth w/out fillings are fine! Breezi

Hi Breezi,

Thanks for your more complete explanation, your choice makes much more sense

in this context. I appreciate your comment excerpted above. Did you know

that the majority of ALL fillings dentists put in today are replacements for

existing fillings where new decay occurs under the filling? That's from a

researcher at the ADA.

Best,

Elchanan
