My husband is losing his hair, so I'm hoping he will be a guinea pig and try this out. I'll keep you posted. Someone suggested Rosemary Oil and Lemon. Perhaps I'll have him try that mixture since Rosemary is supposed to stimulate hair growth. My hair is getting curlier with age and I'm tired of fighting it, so I'm hoping this will bring out the curls. Also, over the past few months, I have decided to stop coloring my hair although now I see a few gray hairs appearing. I have read that Sandalwood Oil is good for premature gray (although mine really isn't premature since I'm 38) so maybe I will mix a drop of Sandalwood with my lemon. Also, my reference book says that Rosewood Oil will lighten hair color if anyone is interested. _____ Hi everyone, I've been watching all the conversation about hair, and I've become concerned enough to offer this contribution. The term " medical model " means, in the largest sense, trying to resolve symptoms by means of treatments, such as pills, lotions, radiation, etc. If anyone is thinking that lemons or rosemary or oil cause hair to grow, then that person is likely to become disappointed. We create our health from the inside out, we do not dab it on somewhere. The body grows hair from the inside out. So you can color and texturize and cut your hair any way you wish, but you cannot cause it to grow by treating your head. Hair on the head is a very low priority item for the body. In other words, when the body is degenerating due to self-abuse by its occupant, the body finds it an easy choice to let go of maintaining the hair in favor of other, higher-priority systems, organs, and functions. As you reverse all this degeneration by eating AND LIVING in increasingly healthful ways, you may reach a point where your body chooses to regrow hair, rejuvenate graying hair, etc. I have seen this happen in a few cases, and I have also seen cases where it has not happened. A couple of people who have participated in this thread have commented that their hair has become much nicer (fuller, more alive, easier to manage, etc.) simply as a result of eating a better diet and moving toward a healthier lifestyle. I suggest that everyone else listen with interest to those experiences, for they are real, and they are occurring right here, right now. No imagining or speculating or quoting of outside sources is required. Finally, my " and living " comment is crucial. My teacher, Dr. Doug Graham, is fond of the following example: if you take a beautiful plant, water and feed it perfectly, give it the very best soil, sing to it, love it, and then put it into a closet, it will still die. Excellent nutrition does not substitute for lack of sunshine, proper sleep and rest, physical activity, laughter, etc. It takes all of these and more to create a healthy human being. And who knows, once we become that healthy, perhaps we won't even focus on our hair anymore!! Guest guest
Amen! I am finding that a lot of things that have caused me anxiety or concern in the past are easing as I move along in this path. Thanks, Elchanan!
