Guest guest Posted April 14, 2005 Report Share Posted April 14, 2005 Hello all. I just thought I would report on my vita-mix smoothie progress. At first when my vita-mix came, I tried a smoothie recipe from Victoria Boutenko's Ode to Green Smoothies article. It was 4 pears, three sticks of celery and a bunch of parsely. First of all, it was way too much. I didn't like it very much. It had lots of bits of stuff in it too which I kept having to spit out, (celery). Next I tried another one without much success. I forget the details. But today, Eureka! I hit upon it. I made my usual traditional smoothie, almonds water bananas dates and berries. I lowered the nut content and added some dark but small kale leaves. Not too many, just a few. It tasted great. I could not really taste the kale but felt good that I was getting some greens. I have evolved away from the nut butter I had every day for lunch with my apple(s). Sometimes I have another smoothie. Also I have avocado's a lot less. The pounds are starting down again too. So I guess all is going well. One more thing. I play scrabble and can't remember all those funny little words. But lately I seem to be remembering a lot more of them.
