How do you get your hair clean? Do you have to brush it more often. I heard where they do not take baths they used cornmeal to brush thru head hair to absorb the oils. They massage in and brush out. I am not sure if this works or not. Just wanna know what you do. I read an article where a girl did not wash her hair for 10 years or more and had long hair. Thanks. Maureen Valerie Mills Daly <valdaly wrote: I have not said anything about my own experiment in this area until now, and here it is for what it is worth. I have had problems with thinning hair, especially in the crown area, for several years. A few weeks ago I came across some information both here and on some other groups that suggested ingredients common to almost all shampoos, including most 'natural' products, might be a contributing factor to this problem. I stopped using shampoo about four weeks ago, and I don't use anything at all except water. While I can't say I have noticed any regrowth, there is a lot less hair in my sink, and a lot less in my brush than I have seen in a long time. My hair feels different, lays differently, and appears thicker than when using the shampoo. It does not seem as fine and 'fly-away' as it did before. I don't know if this is a result of the natural oils hanging around or what. The other positive thing is I can rinse my hair as needed during the day (after periods of exercise/exertion), and it doesn't appear to dry out my hair at all. So, for now anyway, I am sticking with this practice. _____ There is abundant evidence, unfortunately primarily anecdotal (as Valerie's story, above) that virtually all hair care products are damaging. Look at it this way: how much effort, how much water, does it take to rinse the stuff out of your hair? What you don't succeed in removing sticks to your hair. Because it is heavier than hair (in general), it weighs down your hair, " flattening " it, destroying the " body, " etc. So the simple act of stopping use of these products improves almost everyone's hair, pretty much overnight. This relates to a larger topic on which I wrote awhile back. We have been educated to think in terms of doing (treating symptoms, taking something, etc.) and we have even been trained to believe that our RF lifestyle is " healing us. " In truth, none of this is any more important than what we STOP eating when we go raw, or what we stop putting on our skin, in our hair, into our environment (cleaning and laundry), etc. Stopping as many acts of self-poisoning as possible can only lead to improved health, even if we add nothing " healthy " at all! Also, on the topic of oily hair, the body exudes oil through the scalp primarily for either of both of 2 reasons: 1. You are eating too much oil. 2. Your body presently contains excess oil. So appreciate that your body has the good sense to remove foreign matter you are putting into it, reduce your fat intake to less than 10% of total calories consumed. Use lemon juice and water, or plain water (NOT vinegar) to rinse off your hair, and that's it. I do NOT recommend leaving the lemon juice on for any length of time at all. The acid in the lemon juice will cut the oil in the hair pretty much on contact, and I have never met anyone with an acid deficiency. Be patient, give things a couple of days to work fully, and you'll be fine. Well this explains my hair.... for sure... now to fix it... ......<snip> Use lemon juice and water, or plain water (NOT vinegar) to rinse off your hair, and that's it. ...<snip> How much lemon per wash.. I wash my hair every day.. should li then only wash once every other day or so?? Also.. if I were to have lemon juice squeezed into a bottle of water (like a shampoo bottle) how long would it last before going bad? Be patient, give things a couple of days to work fully, and you'll be fine. Best to all, Elchanan I have let my hair just einse with water before and the end result was awfull.. My hair was like straw.... why was this?? I am known for my hair, eyes, and teeth. But I do see lately since I have gotten older that the hair is thining. Never thought to look at the hair products. Since I make my own soap maybe I should try and use them for my hair also. How does one become a " certified organic " product.?

How do you think you might answer your own questions here? For that matter, given that none of us has ever seen you or your hair, how do you imagine we might go about answering your questions? The freshness question does get a response -- use a fresh lemon each washing, look back at Lori's post(s) for ideas on what else you can do with that lemon.
