Guest guest
Hi, I have a friend whose 5 mo baby has severe eczema... he is breastfed, has had no vaccinations... she eats fairly healthy -- SAD but tries to eat whole foods and organic. She did an elimination diet, thinking that dairy or wheat was the culprit, but had no success. Does anyone have any experience in a mama switching to raw foods to clear up a breatfed baby's eczema? How would she go about it? I am still learning so much that I wanted to have some more info to give her before I even brought it up. Any input is appreciated. TIA! Guest guest
Just to clarify, the baby is exclusively breastfed and receiving no solids as he is only 5 months old -- the mother herself did an elim. diet to remove anything that might be triggering the eczema thru her breastmilk. She has no desire to stop breastfeeding, and isnt' going to be introducing solids anytime soon. She is receiving pressure to put baby on formula -- which her gut says is not the right move, and I agree since if the baby is having a reaction to her breastmilk, surely formula will just exacerbate that. I believe she is looking into homeopathy and cosulting an osteopath who uses natural remedies. I had also wondered about cleaning products in the home! I am not sure what she uses. I will encourage her to look into raw foods and other things -- I just wanted a starting point for discussing it with her -- breastfeeding I feel very confident talking about but I am new to raw foods and dont' have that knowledge or experience.
