Guest guest
Hi Elchanan - Thanks for your comments. I use the ice I guess because it tastes better to me really cold. I have found also that I need to add around 1/2 - 1 Cup of liquid (usually cold water) to the fruits and vegies; otherwise they are way to thick for my taste. (Like I said, I like to use a straw, just persona preference.) Thanks Again! " INFO @ Vibrant Life " <VLinfo wrote: Hi again Joanie, Sounds beautiful! And that you are enjoying them speaks volumes. I frequently add greens to my smoothies, though my personal preference has become celery for some reason. I love mixing bananas, dates, and celery. Remember, the sweeter the fruits, the more alkalizing the mixture. And the greens are alkalizing, of course. That's the way to go in general, and especially first meal of the day. As we move into the summer harvest, you'll have many seasonal options: nectarines, peaches, plums, various Japanese and tropical fruits (depending where you are and what is brought in). I encourage you to try all sorts of combinations, if it sounds good and in your mind it looks good, it probably IS good. My only question is about the ice, are you looking for a somewhat " slushy " consistency? I ask because everything in the body happens at body temperature, in the mid-nineties and above. So whenever we eat anything whose temperature is outside that range, the body must adjust accordingly. I often add an ice cube or two to a smoothie, but I don't use ice as they do on bars and such. Guest guest
A quick question. Can celery go in a blender? Or does it get it's strings all tangled in there? I'm waiting on my new Vita Mix which I assume can handle this, but in the meanwhile....If it is a problem, can I chop it up and then put it in? Thanks, Lane - Joanie rawfood Sunday, April 10, 2005 5:06 PM [Raw Food] RE: Elchanan / Smoothie Question Hi Elchanan - Thanks for your comments.
