Guest guest
okay, I'll pick up all these points when I respond. But at this point, it makes more sense for me to write a comprehensive piece on the topic, that can be resent in the future, rather than to continue answering in snippets. The snippets simply don't convey the entire picture, and people naturally keep raising additional questions. it will take a bit of time, however, to prepare such a comprehensive response. Best, and thanks so much for your input and your patience, Elchanan Brenda Costanzo [bren888] Wednesday, April 06, 2005 8:27 AM rawfood [Raw Food] Food combining and 80/10/10 OK - I read the replies to my 80/10/10 questions. And my head is spinning. What started me on this whole road of raw foodism is reading about food combining. That took me to Fit For Life which took me into raw foods which has now taken me to 80/10/10. All within about 1 - 2 months. Food combining still confuses me because of different view points that I have gotten. Fit for life was don't combine fruits with vegetables, starches or proteins. Don't combine starch and proteins but vegetables can be eaten with either starch or protein. The further I looked into this, there was don't combine sweet fruit with sub-sweet fruit. Now in the responses to my 80/10/10 questions, it was suggested to make a smoothie with bananas, dates and/or celery (which, may I say, sounds yummy!) - but this goes against some food combinine " rules " - i.e. the celery and bananas. (This reminds me of another question - you don't need more liquid with the bananas to make the smoothie? I've had smoothies with bananas and fresh apple juice, I thought I needed the liquid from the apple juice). Thanks Brenda _____
