My very first date order arrived UPS today...just toooooo exciting! I opened it, looked to see what was what, and then sampled a few of each kind (even decided to keep a tick tally of how many, so I could go to NutriDiary, and see if I had any calories left to eat for the day!) I then realized that I'd *never* had a non-dried date in my life....a new experience! grand! Here's my thoughts on each: Medjool (10)- I paid $5 extra for the " large " version, and oh my gosh... they were almost a meal in themselves...very sweet, very moist, large, (reminded me of the size of a fresh fig tree in a neighbor's yard in NC..) very tasty...and they packed about 20/qt. Carmelita (8) - ok...smaller....sweet, not quite as moist, and maybe a little like carmel.... pack: ~75/qt. Honey - (9) very moist, actually dripping in what almost seemed, and tasted like honey....excellent! pack: ~60/qt. I packed these last in each batch, so I could lick my fingers, go wash them again, and begin again! Peanut Butter (6-7)- interesting...they looked a little like peanuts in the shell, and when I found the only " really " dried out one in the bunch, I think I see where they get their name: the skins dries into an almost paper-like thickness, and the inside then is hard like a peanut. theyr'e ok.... pack: ~75/qt. The 15# sampler pack yielded about 13 qts. in 1qt. vacuum-sealed containers, 1.5 qts. in a tub in the fridge, and about 1/4 a quart +/- that I ate ...(16 dates - called it 18 for NutriDiary, since the Medjool's were so large. ) I'd call it 15 qts. of dates for $45 plus Shipping ($~15 for me, mid- FL from Calif.) Numbers behind the name are just some " quantification " of where I'd put them on my 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest)scale. For comaprison, the last batch of Medjool dates that I'd bought at the Health Food store, I'd now rate a 1-2. Hope this assists some others. regards, Bob
