Oh.. I have hear that getting to know the farmers are the best way to get great

organic fruits and veggies... but my question would be... how does one " get to

know " these farmers? how would you know if they are telling the truth? what

questions do you ask them.. Since I am rather shy in person... I would not even

know how to open a conversation regarding weather their produce is organic or

not... then if I did happen to ask them out right... where would I go from

there. I do not know that much about organic gardening so I would not be

educated enough to know what kinds would be better then what... or what

questions to ask to make sure they actually knew what they were doing....

There is an organization called wwoofter [i think I have that right anyway, I

can check if it doesn't work in a search which is all about people travelling to

organic farms and having experience working on such in exchange for their

lodgings. Now, I am not suggesting is what any of you want to do -- although it

might be -- however, the wwoofter home page does list host families, and it

might be worth seeing if there are any in your area. I would have thought they

would not mind being contacted as 1) they are used to people contacting them

about what they do, they are listed in wwoofters, and 2) it may be a way of

getting exactly what you need either by purchase or barter. Again, it might be

a wild goose chase [wild yam chase??] but I thought it was worth a mention.

Peace be with your spirit, enjoy the day.
