Guest guest
When I lived in NYC, I went to raw restaurants. Since I moved to Sarasota, FL two years ago, I'm having a really hard time. I make all of my own recipes and it seems I'm always buying ingredients, making recipes and washing dishes. There are no restaurants in this town that have any raw recipe items. (And I don't find the variety and quality of organic produce that I found in NY.) As far as going out to eat (and as a long-time Manhattanite, I love going out to eat), the best I can hope for is to order a salad. That's boring, as compared with what I had in NYC, where there are now about six all-raw places. I've tried to get people interested in opening a raw restaurant here, but I guess the population isn't dense enough, because no one is doing it, despite some interest. I'd like to move to Santa Monica. Whereabouts are you? Judy I hope the subject line got your attention enough for you to answer my question. Miss Congeniality? No, that's not me but I'm out with others a lot or have friends into my home since I show dogs and meet up with other " dog " people all the time. Got nondog friends too and it seems food is usually a big part of our get togethers. How has a raw food lifestyle affected your social life? How have you managed restaurants, eating with friends and (oh, my gosh) relatives? Thanks so much for your response. Guest guest
Congenial - having the same tastes, habits, or temperament; sympathetic. Are we all simpatico here? Of a pleasant disposition; friendly and sociable: a congenial host. That's me to a tee. The social life is a tough one, I don't know anyone else who eats this way, except the few people I see when I show up at a raw food potluck. I only eat raw produce and nuts so when I'm in a restaurant, eating, they have to have raw salad available. If I'm at a relative gathering, I'll eat some produce if it's available, if not, I'm just there for the company. I can not eat in a restaurant too. I usually carry my food around with me wherever I go so I can eat whenever. I just don't eat like my friends, I manage, that's just the way it is.
